Urban STE(A)M
Join like-minded “outside the box” educators and explore the world of nature-based teaching. This session’s theme will be URBAN TREE CONSERVATION and how to utilize your school campus to connect the natural environment to K-12 standards for any subject. Leave inspired, with accessible resources and realistic strategies for making
learning more relevant. Whether your goal is to enhance existing lessons plans or create PBL, this workshop provides tools to enrich your teaching without adding to your workload.

This is an advanced workshop in partnership with the Gwinnett and DeKalb Soil & Water Conservation Districts, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Georgia Forestry Commission, Upper Ocmulgee Resource Conservation & Development District, and Gardens for Growing Community. This workshop is focused on urban forestry and natural resources. Participants will not be trained in PLT curriculum, but the curriculum will be highlighted and it will be content rich.
